PIllars
These are the basic pieces of our lives that we all share. We all have these - that doesn't mean we all balance them well, but we all have them. Pillars represent the basic pieces of our lives that we all share. We all have these elements in our lives, even if we don't balance them well. There are six basic pillars we all share: Physical, Mental, Financial, Spiritual, Relational, and Career.
responsibilities
Inside each pillar are responsibilities. For example, within the Relational pillar you have responsibilities to your spouse, children. parents, etc. Or inside your Career pillar you might have the multiple facets of your job: managing, marketing, developing your own skills. Responsibilities allow you to personalize the pillars to better fit you.
Goals
Under each responsibility you can define goals. These allow you to focus on certain objectives inside each responsibility. For example, you might set a goal of selling so much money a year. Or your responsibility towards you spouse might set a weekly date night as a goal. These goals help focus the responsibilities into specific things to work on.
Tasks
Finally, there are tasks. Tasks can be assigned pillars, responsibilities, or goals as "roots." By organizing your tasks under these roots, you can better balance your life. Are you neglecting tasks from a certain pillar? Is one root taking all of your time? Using roots will help you focus on what's really important.
